Union School District

Playground and landscape improvements were made for Union School in Joliet, Illinois, enhancing outdoor areas with new play structures, safety surfacing, seating, shade features, lighting, and upgraded landscaping. The improvements create a safer, more engaging environment for students and the community.

The site offers convenient access via Spencer Road and Cherry Hill Road, with I-80 approximately 2–3 miles to the north via the Laraway Road interchange and I-55 about 4 miles to the east via the Weber Road interchange. I-355 is accessible roughly 7 miles to the west via Boughton Road, providing efficient regional connectivity for staff, service providers, and construction traffic. U.S. Route 30 lies just 1 mile to the south, supporting local circulation and access to surrounding southwest suburban communities. The area is also served by Pace bus routes and is within a short drive of the Joliet Gateway Center, offering commuter rail service via Metra’s Rock Island District and Heritage Corridor lines, facilitating convenient access to and from the greater Chicago region.
