New Lenox Public Works

This 75,000 SF ground-up build-to-suit facility was developed for The Village of New Lenox to serve as a centralized hub for public works operations. The project was designed to support administrative, maintenance, and storage needs for the Village’s municipal services.

The facility includes office space, a vehicle storage garage, a storage mezzanine, shop areas, a vehicle maintenance garage, a salt dome, an outbuilding for salt bin storage, and a fuel island for gasoline and diesel dispensing. The building layout was carefully planned to optimize workflow, operational efficiency, and safe vehicle circulation throughout the site.

Strategically located in New Lenox, the facility offers convenient access to I-355 (Veterans Memorial Tollway) via the 135th Street interchange and I-80 via the Gougar Road interchange, supporting efficient regional connectivity for municipal fleet operations and delivery services. The project demonstrates Northern Builders’ ability to deliver complex, high-function municipal facilities that combine operational functionality, durability, and strategic planning for local government clients, while ensuring seamless daily operations and long-term public service support.
