Mt. Carmel HS Carey Field Improvements

This project included the design and construction of a new football stadium for Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago, Illinois. Completed as a custom design-build project, the development delivered a long-awaited on-campus home field for the historic private school, established in 1900. The new facility marked a milestone for the program, which had never previously hosted a football game on its own grounds. In its inaugural season, Mt. Carmel captured the IHSA Class 7A Football State Championship in 2019, finishing the year undefeated with a 14-0 record.

Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago is conveniently accessible via I‑94/I‑90 Dan Ryan Expressway, with nearby exits at 103rd and 111th Streets, and is within a few miles of Metra’s Rock Island District stations at 103rd and 111th Streets, providing easy access for both drivers and public transit users. The site is approximately 12 miles from Chicago Midway International Airport.

Northern executed the project with a focus on quality, functionality, and community impact, transforming the campus with a facility that supports both athletic excellence and school pride. The stadium now accommodates thousands of students, alumni, and community members for home games, generating significant annual foot traffic and fostering longstanding school traditions.
