Art Van Woodridge

This 63,000 SF ground-up build-to-suit facility in Woodridge was developed for Art Van, the #1 furniture and mattress retailer in the Midwest. The project was the company’s first freestanding ground-up facility in the Chicago area, designed to support both retail and operational functions.

The facility included interior showrooms, a vestibule, regional sales offices, a training facility, and warehouse space, along with all applicable site work to accommodate a full-scale retail showroom environment. The design provided a seamless experience for customers, staff, and logistics operations.

Strategically located along East Boughton Road, less than one mile west of the I-355 (Veterans Memorial Tollway) interchange, the site provides direct connectivity to I-55 just 3 miles south via Lemont Road, facilitating efficient access for both retail customers and regional distribution. The location also benefits from its proximity to major commercial corridors including Bolingbrook Drive (IL-53) and Hobson Road, which link Woodridge to neighboring communities such as Naperville, Downers Grove, and Lisle. Opened as a premier retail and operational hub, the facility closed in 2020, yet it remains a notable example of Northern Builders’ ability to deliver high-quality, ground-up retail construction projects that combine functionality, operational efficiency, and brand presence.
